Cup Competition Rules1. The League Rules shall apply with the following additions and amendments. 2. Games may be played on either a cup-tie or Home and Home principle as may be determined by the Executive Committee. When played on a Cup-tie principle, Clubs first drawn in the ballot shall have choice of ground except in semi-final and final ties which shall only be played on grounds selected by the Executive Committee.
3. Where a cup competition take the form of League sections followed by the section winners playing off, the League sections shall be played to the same rules as for the League competition proper. The knock-out part of the competition will be run according to the provision of rule 2(a) above. 4. When a cup competition is played on a Home and Home principle, and either club fails to fulfil one of the matches, that match shall be investigated by the Executive Committee, and if the explanation for non-fulfillment of the fixture is deemed unsatisfactory, that Club shall be dismissed from the Competition and fined a sum not exceeding £100.00. 5. The reason for non-fulfillment of any fixture shall be investigated by the Executive Committee, and if the reasons are deemed to be unsatisfactory, the defaulting Club shall forfeit the Cup-tie and be liable to a fine not exceeding £100.00. In addition, the defaulting Club shall be liable for the Referees Fee and Ground Fee if applicable, which shall be reimbursed to the aggrieved Club. Fines imposed under this Rule must be paid to the Treasurer within one month of said fines being notified to Clubs concerned, and failure to pay same may result in Clubs being Debt Suspended. 6. Any club intending to scratch, must notify in writing the Secretary of the opposing Club and the League Match Secretary at least 3 days prior to the date of the tie. Defaulting Clubs may be dealt with by the Executive Committee as they deem expedient. 7. (a) When gate money or collection is taken, the receipt of ties (except in semi-final and final ties when played on neutral ground) shall be equally divided between competing clubs after deducting referees fee. Advertising and police charges. When the receipts do not cover the expenses or when no gate money or collection is taken, the Referee's fee, which shall be the first charge on the receipts, shall be shared equally by the competing Clubs. (b) When ties are played on a Home and Home principle, the Home Club shall pay all expenses, and retain all gate money and collections. 8. The Executive Committee shall fix ground for Final Tie (and when possible for semi-final ties) and shall have direct control of all arrangements, receipts and disembursements in connection therewith. 9. Entry fee shall be fixed by the General Committee and must be paid to the Treasurer before Clubs take part in the competition. 10. No player may play for more than one club in a cup competition in any one season. Clubs with more than one team in membership of the League, and for the purpose of this Rule, each team is considered a separate Club, and may not play for more than one team in any cup competition. |
